Notes on founder questions

Important notes (don't send this part to founders!).

Last updated on 29 Apr, 2026

Some important notes for when founders ask if they can send you their investors for your syndicate:

  • You can offer that the founder simply make intros to you directly if anyone is interested, or if it's going out to a big list, you may want to create an EOI (expression of interest) form for the founder to use.

  • Alternatively, you can also suggest that the founder, simply direct them to register for your syndicate via app.aussieangels.com/syndicates (or your unique link)

  • Remember that we can only accept sophisticated investors (they need to qualify, but Aussie Angels can help them get their certificate signed off), so in this area you have a couple options;

    • a) have the founder mention that to them "note: this opportunity is only available to wholesale investors"

    • b) simply ask the question in your own EOI form

    • c) direct them to join your syndicate via the form on Aussie Angels website, where we ask the question and then can provide guidance accordingly

    • d) simply send them the deal note directly and they will be asked before we allow them to see the deal note, so we'll filter them that way for you

  • Many people who may qualify, simply aren't sure what 'wholesale' or 'sophisticated' means, so in our experience putting it upfront can cause some people to self-select out.
