Founder Q&As are one of the best ways to engage LPs, build confidence in a deal, and convert interest into investment.
This guide shows you how to set up, promote, and host a Founder Q&A using LUMA, plus how to follow up for maximum results.👉 Reference: https://help.aussieangels.com/help/how-to-run-a-good-founder-q-a-session
✅ Step 1: Set up your event on LUMA
Log into LUMA using your existing account. [Tip/Trick: to get around the subscription $, make it a personal account, and get 500 invite capacity via following this link]
Create a new event:
- Event Name: [Company Name] Founder Q&A – hosted by [Syndicate Name]
- Date & Time: Choose a time friendly to your LP base (lunchtime / after work often works best).
- Format: Online (Zoom/Meet link).
- Add event description: Example: “Join us for an interactive Q&A with [Founder Name], co-founder of [Company]. You’ll hear directly about their vision, traction, and what’s next — and have the chance to ask your own questions live.”
3. Upload banner image (company logo or product image).
4. Save event and double-check the details.
✅ Step 2: Invite your LPs
You should use two channels to maximise attendance:
1. 📧 Email via LUMA
Upload your LP list via copy and paste of emails into the invite ‘enter emails’ section and click next (Tip: download the CSV file of all your LPs from the Aussie Angels platform).
Draft a custom message to your LPs in the text box but STOP before you hit send invites
You now have a choice to hit the black Send Invites button OR hit the red text Add Guests Directly. The Add Guests Directly pops this straight into their diaries, instead of sending them an invite. You may choose which one to do, depending on your deal, timeframes, and how well you know your syndicate members. Otherwise, continue with hitting the Send Invites button.
2. 📣 Post on Aussie Angels Platform
Create a post to send to your syndicate members.
Sample Platform Post:
Subject: 🚀 We’re hosting a Founder Q&A with [Company]
Want to hear directly from [Founder Name] about their vision and progress? Join us for a live Q&A on [date/time].
📅 Date: [Insert date]
🕒 Time: [Insert time AEST]
📍 RSVP via LUMA: [Insert LUMA link]
Send your questions in if you cannot attend.
Deal not for you, just hit PASS to stop hearing more from us on this one.
